The bit about pearls - courtesy yet another book from the Anne of Green Gables series. Who knew it would keep having an influence in my life, enough to get quoted multiple times in my blog.

Yes, the laughing is good!
I *loved* the Anne of Green Gables books as a girl (have I said this already somewhere else?). A sweet old great-aunt of mine used to call me her little Anne because of my fair complexion (and I USED to wear my hair in 2 plaits....not quite the right look anymore!)
This cannot have effect in actual fact, that's what I think.
